POP ART
Andy Warhol is arguably the most well known pop artist. He created mass production of images such as; Campbell's soup tins and Coca-Cola bottles. Warhol used bright colours in some paintings to show the culture of celebrities, which contrasts with the black and white versions of his work which represent death. Many of his work featured celebrities from the 50s who had recently died. One of his pieces was more than 20 silk printing of a publicity photo of Marilyn Monroe from 1953 film Niagara, which was created 4 months after her death. He did this with other celebrities as well like; Elvis and Jackie Kennedy.
