CHER

Cher started off in a singing act with her husband Sonny Bono, reaching number one with their single "I got you babe" in the 1960s. In an interview with Joe Decarlo, Cher and Sonny former manager, he said Cher turned up in an Indian outfit and Sonny had on a vest with a fur jacket. They went on to have a comedy programme "The Sonny and Cher comedy hour". The couple had a distinctive bohemian style. They were a household name and loved by the nation. However, the show ended as their marriage dissolved, this was when Cher established a solo career.

Cher featured in many films as this is what she always wanted to be, an actor. She featured in many big films such as; Slikwood, Mask and the Witches of Eastwick. She went on to earn her first Oscar with the film Moonstruck.

At the same time as Moonstruck was released she brought out her album which featured "If I Could Turn Back Time". The music video caused a stir with her barely there outfit of a sheer body suit and leather jacket.

Over the years Cher has been known for her daring outfits, when Cher was not nominated for her work in the film Mask she wore famed black chain-link halter and matching feather headdress to the Oscars as a form of protest.
