Christmas time in Melbourne

In September 2016 I moved to Melbourne for six months before I started uni. One of my favorite times there was Christmas even with the lack of snow. Melbourne compared to Newcastle is a huge City and was quite intimidating at first, by Christmas time I had settled in and knew my way around the City centre. When all the Christmas decorations were put up it felt extremely weird to see a Christmas tree in 24 degrees.
We spent Christmas day on the beach and had a BBQ for dinner, not quite like the usual cold christmas spent in front of the TV watching all the Christmas specials with the full family, after stuffing our faces with pigs in blankets.
I also saw a man taking his rabbit for a dip in the sea while at the beach which I can say I had not seen before on any other Christmas days.
